Brief introduction of BOPP film

- May 06, 2018 -

BOPP is an abbreviation for "Biaxially Oriented Polypropylene", and a BOPP film is a biaxially oriented polypropylene film.

The BOPP film is produced by first forming the polymer polypropylene melt into a sheet or thick film through a narrow head, and then simultaneously or stepwise in a dedicated stretching machine at a certain temperature and a set speed. Stretching is performed in two perpendicular directions (longitudinal, transverse) and subjected to appropriate cooling or heat treatment or special processing (eg, corona, coating, etc.).

BOPP film production technology was first introduced by Italy's Moncalti in 1958. In 1962, industrialization was monopolized in Europe, America and Japan. After that, BOPP film developed rapidly. There are more than 200 production companies in the world and nearly 500 production lines.

Uses: Mainly used for printing, bag making, adhesive tape and composite with other substrates.

Performance: high transparency and gloss, excellent ink and coating adhesion, excellent water vapor and grease barrier properties, low electrostatic properties

Common thickness: 10, 12, 15, 18, 19, 20, 25, 28, 35, 38, 40, 45μm
